Obama still has leverage over Israel [Brits hate on the Jewish State]

Vital to that [US-Israel] alliance is US support in the UN Security Council, where it has cast 29 vetoes to shield Israel from condemnation for its actions in the occupied territories. Imagine the signal the US would send were it even to abstain. Or, better still, if the US and its allies took a blueprint for a two-state solution – the outlines of which have long been clear – to the council and voted it through. This game is not over yet.

The author overlooks the fact that while Israel has agreed to a two-state solution and to a settlement freeze, the Palestinians have rejected recognition of Israel as the Jewish State and have refused to negotiate with Israel. It not the obdurate Netanyahu who is boycotting talks; it is the recalcitrant Abbas. The truth is the Palestinians are not interested in a compromise peace with Israel.

If the truth mattered, life would be better.

I'm not sure Obama has any leverage over any foreign nation. Think about it for a moment.

He has an extremely murky past. There are questions of where he was born, who his father really was. His college records are sealed and nobody at Columbia can remember him. He does not appear in the yearbook. Rumors of aberrant sexual behavior, drug use, shady real estate deals, underhanded politics, belief in islam, and associations with communists and other fringe characters have surfaced and resurfaced.

Consider that, recently, the Canadian government stamped a briefing paper on Obama "top secret" and refused to release it. Why would they do this? Do you think Canada is the only nation that knows something embarrassing about "the one"? Every country has a dossier on this guy. The Chinese, the Russians, the Iranians, the Israeli's. I don't think the contents of these dossiers is pretty. If that's true, how much leverage do you think Obama has over any foreign government?
